The Water Dialogues was established in Brazil, Indonesia, the Philippines, South Africa and Uganda.
All these countries themselves chose to participate based on the commitment of a variety of sector stakeholders, including national government, to engage in dialogue.
Each national dialogue was a microcosm that reflected the global debate over private sector involvement in water and sanitation services. They brought together people with different perspectives and interests including for example:
